Evaluation of intercropping and sole cropping Thymus daenensis and Medicago sativa

Document Type : Research Paper

Abstract

To evaluate the Thymus daenensis and Medicago sativa intercropping carried out experimental was a randomized complete block design with three replications. Row replacement series design was used in the design of intercropping. The treatments included different combinations of Thymus daenensis and Medicago sativa ratios: 50:50 and 75:25 and 25:75, respectively was monoculture. The experimental results in terms of features such as notes, fresh and dry weight yield of Medicago sativa, fresh weight and economic performance Thymus daenensis, plant height Thymus daenensis and alfalfa during the three years combined were analyzed.

Results showed that year effect on fresh weight, dry weight of hay to dry on plant height was significant and meaningful. Alfalfa dry matter yield in the first, second and third respectively in 1400, 4007 and 3780 gr per square meter. There was no significant effect of planting on dry hay. But most dry weight thyme equivalent of planting to 25% +75% Thymus daenensis and Medicago with 3280 g was obtained, which was different from other treatments. The numbers indicate the highest LER of treatment compared to 75% +25% Thymus daenensis and Medicago sativa was the equivalent of 1.04 in the second year. The results of these experiments was determined the use of intercropping cultures over monoculture prevails over the second year and third year of cultivation is not economically intercropping. Most LER with three year results from the combined 75% +25% Thymus daenensis was Medicago sativa.
